With clients across the country, Wemtech are an independent non-profit making organization assisting manufacturers to make better use of technology and improve their business methods. We are able to offer services and support that include consultancy, training, information resources, and funding to Small & Medium sized Enterprises (SME's) requiring assistance with product compliance. Our mission statement is:
"To promote the cost effective use of technology by manufacturers, for competitive advantage and to facilitate the delivery of that appropriate technology to develop the skills of the workforce."
About The CE Marking Association
The compliance club was established late in 1993 under a national initiative by the DTI, (now BERR). The initial purpose of the club was to transfer knowledge from Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Low Voltage (LV) and Machinery experts to companies in the manufacture, import or distribution of machinery or electronic apparatus for sale within the European Economic Area (EAA) who have a need to meet the provision of EC Directives 2004/108/EC (EMC), 2006/95/EC (LV) 98/37/EC (Machinery).The Association formed part of a National Forum of clubs throughout the UK. Today, only a few remain, whereas the CE Marking Association continues to be the largest, most successful and cost effective.

Assistance and funding for CE Compliance to help SME companies. Wemtech is a registered and approved associate of MAS West Midlands, MAS East Midlands, MAS South East, MAS South West, MAS-East of England, MAS London, MAS Yorkshire & Humber and WMCCE (West Midlands Centre for Constructing Excellence). Through MAS/WMCCE, Wemtech will be able to give assistance to companies who may have problems meeting CE compliance; this can be up to 30 days of assistance and in some cases possibility up to 100% dependant upon eligibility and location. Applicants must be a UK manufacturing company of less than 250 employees. Examples of project could be: If you think you have a problem then discuss it with us we will check to see if it fits within the criteria. The decision process is simple and quick. The client requests a project through Wemtech or direct with MAS/WMCCE, and MAS/WMCCE will will provide an instant decision. | HELPLINE Unbiased advice on the technical and legislative aspects of the EMC, LV, Machinery, Medical, ATEX, PED, CPD, RTTE, EuP, Toys, Gas Appliances, Recreational Crafts, PPE, WEEE, RoHS and GPS Directives to help members understand and resolve any issues arising for a particular situation. |

| STANDARD UPDATES All members have access to a monthly update of relevant standard changes to assist them to remain in conformity with current legislation. |

| QUICK LOOK SEE SURGERIES Free on meeting days, a visit to a surgery will generally indicate whether a product will comply or whether it needs further development; advice is usually given at this stage. |

| DISCOUNTS ON WORKSHOPS & TRAINING As a member your company can obtain discounts on selected Training Courses and Workshops. Our workshop is designed to achieve an understanding of the essential requirements of CE Directives and how to comply, will be run throughout the year with 50% discount. |
| SEMINARS-MEETINGS Regular meetings will be held during the membership year at various venues throughout the UK. Entry to the meetings will be free to members. More than one company member can attend. The meetings will keep members up to date with technical and regulatory changes and enable members to discuss issues of common concern. These activities may be appropriate for the maintenance or enhancement of a competence relevant to an individual's Continuous Professional Development. |

| BSI DISCOUNTS ON STANDARDS AND SERVICES Members can obtain at least a 25% discount on BSI standards and a discount on BSI services. |

| ACCESS TO KEY TECHNICAL CONSULTANTS & BODIES Members who have product compliance issues that cannot be solved via the "helpline" or "quick look see surgeries" will be put in touch with the appropriate expertise to solve their problem. |

| FUNDING FOR CE COMPLIANCE Wemtech is a registered and approved associate of MAS/WMCCE. Through MAS/WMCCE, Wemtech will be able to give assistance to companies who may have problems meeting CE Compliance; this can be 50% or more of assistance and in some cases up to 30 days dependment upon eligibility and location. Applicants must be an SME manufacturing company in the UK, who has not received more than 200,000 Euros of assistance over the last three years. |
